New Windows and a Composite Front Door in Cricklade

This stone-faced semi-detached home in Cricklade, the small Wiltshire town between Swindon and Cirencester, was being renovated from top to bottom. The windows and front door were a natural part of that work, so Thames Frames replaced the lot in one visit rather than piecemeal.

The brief

A renovation is the ideal moment to change windows and doors: the rooms are already being redecorated, so any making good around the frames disappears into the wider work. The aim was simple. Give the whole house a clean, consistent frontage, and a front door that looks the part and keeps the weather and intruders out.

The windows

Every window in the house was replaced with white uPVC casement windows. Upstairs and down, the new frames sit neatly within the existing stone openings, with slim white profiles that suit the pale stone and match the neighbouring homes on the row.

The front door

Under the porch, the old entrance made way for a new composite door in Shadow Grey (RAL 7005) with decorative glazing, framed in white to tie in with the windows. The result

The house now has a matching set of new windows and a smart front door to go with the rest of the renovation, all surveyed, supplied and fitted by the same Thames Frames team.
